The GLI24 Investment Framework
The financial system is becoming tokenized, programmable and increasingly autonomous.
The Goldilocks Index 24 (GLI24) is a portfolio-weighted thematic research index that tracks the performance of a disclosed 24-asset reference basket focused on institutional tokenization, real-world-asset infrastructure and the AI/agentic onchain economy. The index is rebased to 100 at inception and is not an investable financial product.

Core thesis
Tokenized, programmable, autonomous
GLI24 tracks one structural transition through a disclosed reference basket, not a collection of unrelated bets.
Tokenized
Financial assets, funds, credit and collateral migrate onto programmable ledgers with real settlement and issuance activity.
Programmable
Money, collateral and market infrastructure gain logic: rules execute in code, not in reconciliation cycles.
Autonomous
Software agents transact, consume data and pay for compute, requiring identity, payments and verified information.
The framework is deliberately falsifiable: it names what must go right for each asset, and what would invalidate the thesis as a whole.
Structure
The four investment layers
Every constituent belongs to exactly one framework layer. The layers correspond to the four main categories used across the site.
01
14.26%
Digital Reserve
Monetary anchor. A scarce, neutral digital reserve asset and liquidity leg.

Tokenized Finance
Assets, settlement, payments, real-world-asset issuance, credit and liquidity moving onchain.

Core Infrastructure
Data, oracles, interoperability, scaling, identity and privacy — the shared services the stack depends on.

Selection
Eligibility framework
An asset is only considered when it serves the thesis, is genuinely used, and could plausibly capture value at the token level.
Thesis relevance
Does the asset directly serve one or more GLI24 layers?
Real adoption
Are assets, transactions, users, institutional deployments, queries, compute or agent activity growing?
Token necessity
Is the token required for fees, staking, security, collateral, resource access or a credible monetary function?
Value capture
Can network success plausibly create token demand, scarcity or security value?
Supply quality
Are emissions, unlocks and incentives sustainable?
Liquidity & resilience
Is pricing, liquidity and network operation reliable enough for a public research benchmark?
Governance & execution
Can the project reliably execute and remain secure?

Weighting
Portfolio-weighted, quantity-fixed
Baseline weights came from the disclosed reference portfolio at inception, not from a target allocation. Between documented basket adjustments quantities are fixed and weights drift only with price.
Core
68.81%
The largest inception positions. Exposure the thesis cannot be expressed without.
5 constituents
Specialist
17.01%
Mid-sized positions targeting a specific economic function or vertical within a layer.
7 constituents
Optionality
14.16%
Small, deliberately asymmetric positions where the payoff is high but execution risk is higher.
12 constituents
Core, Specialist and Optionality are a research interpretation of the observed concentration in the baseline. They are not a mechanical weighting rule and are not evidence that weights were algorithmically set by conviction.
Inception baseline dated 26 August 2026 (historical): the five largest positions represent 68.81% of the basket and the disclosed weights total 99.98% after source rounding. Current weights differ — they drift with price and are shown live on the index page.
The index level itself is computed from fixed reference quantities — see the technical methodology for the formula and observation cadence.
Benchmark
Reading GLI24 against CMC20
CMC20 is indexed to 100 on the same inception date. The difference between the two levels is relative performance in percentage points (pp), never a percentage.
GLI24 ↑ · CMC20 ↑ · Alpha ↑
Theme participating and outperforming.
GLI24 ↑ · CMC20 ↑ · Alpha ↓
Rising, but broad crypto is stronger.
GLI24 ↓ · CMC20 ↓ · Alpha ↑
Relative resilience in a falling market.
GLI24 ↓ · CMC20 ↓ · Alpha ↓
Thematic underperformance.
Maintenance
Basket adjustments, not rebalances
Quantities are fixed between changes. Any replacement or quantity change preserves index continuity so the level never jumps artificially.
Review triggers
- Deterioration of the thesis or of token value capture.
- Structural displacement by a better protocol performing the same economic function.
- Security or governance failure.
- Liquidity failure or loss of reliable pricing.
- A break in the underlying thesis.
Governance
Research standards and evidence
Standards
- The methodology is public and versioned.
- Scheduled research reviews, plus emergency review for material events.
- Primary sources and production data outrank promotional narratives.
- All material changes are published in a public change log.
- No retroactive optimization of the historical basket.
- Market performance and fundamental evidence are assessed separately.
- Sponsorship never determines inclusion, scoring or ranking.
Evidence hierarchy
- Tier 1 — Regulators and central banks, official protocol documentation, audited or onchain data, institutional announcements.
- Tier 2 — Reputable research and high-quality industry sources.
- Tier 3 — Quality media and secondary reporting.
Methodology and basket changes are logged on the public change log.
Risk
Risks and invalidation conditions
A framework that cannot be wrong is not research. These are the conditions under which GLI24 would be judged to have failed.
Public-token value capture
Networks may scale while economic value fails to reach the public token that represents them.
Private / permissioned substitution
Institutions may adopt private or permissioned ledgers instead of public infrastructure.
AI centralization
Agentic activity may concentrate inside centralized platforms with no onchain settlement requirement.
Regulation
Regulatory change can restrict tokens, distribution, staking or specific business models.
Dilution
Emissions and unlocks can outpace demand growth and suppress value capture.
Technology & security
Protocol exploits, chain halts and bridge failures can permanently impair assets.
Competition
Superior alternatives can displace an incumbent within the same economic function.
Correlation / beta
Thematic exposure remains highly correlated to broad crypto beta over short horizons.
The thesis is invalidated if
- Tokenized assets scale, but economic value accrues almost entirely to traditional intermediaries and private software.
- Autonomous agents scale, but blockchain identity, payments, data and compute remain economically irrelevant.
- The selected infrastructure loses production usage to superior alternatives.
- GLI24 fails over the long run to show differentiated fundamental progress or performance versus broad crypto exposure.

Methodology Version — v1.0 — 30 Aug 2026 — Current
Version 1.0 establishes the thesis, the four layers, the eligibility and scoring framework, the weighting approach and the inception constituent research. Subsequent versions will be published with their effective date and rationale.
GLI24 uses the term “index” to describe the calculated performance of its reference basket. It is not a regulated benchmark, benchmark administrator, financial index offered for licensing, or investable product.
This page is research and information only. It is not investment advice, not an offer and not a recommendation. GLI24 is not an investable product.
