What GLI24 Measures
The Goldilocks Index 24 (GLI24) is a portfolio-weighted thematic research index that tracks the performance of a disclosed 24-asset reference basket focused on institutional tokenization, real-world-asset infrastructure and the AI/agentic onchain economy. The index is rebased to 100 at inception and is not an investable financial product.
The measurement
GLI24 measures one thing: the value of a fixed, disclosed basket of 24 assets, divided by the value of that same basket at inception, multiplied by 100.
The formula is:
sum(q_i x P_i,t) / sum(q_i x P_i,0) x 100
where q_i is the fixed reference quantity of constituent i, P_i,t is its price at time t, and P_i,0 is its reference price at inception. The baseline portfolio value is USD 4,034.87 and the inception level is 100, dated 26 August 2026.
What the level tells you
A level above 100 means the disclosed basket is worth more than at inception. A level below 100 means it is worth less. Because the basket is thematic, the level is a read on one narrow question: how the institutional tokenization and AI/agentic infrastructure theme is performing, in aggregate, against its own starting point.
CMC20 is shown alongside it on the same indexed basis so that the theme can be compared with broad crypto market performance. The difference between the two levels is relative performance since inception, expressed in percentage points.
What GLI24 does not measure
- It is not a portfolio you can buy. There is no fund, no product and no subscription to the basket.
- It is not a regulated benchmark and GLI24 is not a benchmark administrator.
- It is not an execution-grade or tradable price feed. Pricing comes from the CoinMarketCap API and is published for research purposes only.
- It is not a claim that the 24 constituents are the correct or complete expression of the theme. They are a disclosed, documented selection.
Why this framing matters
Research indices frequently overstate their own rigour. GLI24 states its construction plainly: a disclosed reference basket, fixed quantities between documented basket changes, and current weights that drift with relative performance. Every constituent quantity, reference price and timestamp is published, which means a third party can reproduce the index level independently. That reproducibility is the point.
